Heal shield was developed over 3 years by equestrian Melanie Davies after a friend's horse was suffering from summer sores located in hard to bandage places – the knee and the coronet band. Summer Sores are stubborn, slow-healing lesions that love to attract flies. It can be expensive to buy supplies to keep any summer sore covered, let alone those that pop up in tricky places.
Heal Shield's line of products are designed not only to aid in healing summer sores, but also as a preventative measure. They can also be used on any small opening, scratch, scrape, or fungus spot. Heal Shield provides protection, allowing your horse to heal safely and comfortably.

Heal Shield's soft inner mesh lining keeps small particles of dirt and debris off the wound while its tough outer mesh keeps out flies. The left and right options For the Fly Go boot allow the correct pressure distribution when closing the boot, and the bell boot allows coverage of the ankle, pastern and coronet band.
The No Pressure Wound Pad alleviates pressure over wounds, decreases friction and irritation, allowing medications to stay on the wound and not on the bandage. The pads are made of soft neoprene, designed for comfort against soft, delicate tissue, and are designed for use under a standing wrap. Comes in pack of two - one large pad with an opening of 2", and one small pad with an opening of 1.25".
